"Where Eagles Take Flight"
We are quickly approaching our annual Blue and Gold Banquet. This
is a catered dinner where our boys receive their rank
badges. This night is all about making our scouts feel
special so please bring your whole families. Please note,
we have had to move the date back to February 18th due to a
scheduling conflict with CrossPoint. Your Cub needs to be
done with all their requirements before that date so please work
with your den leaders to make sure that gels done. Tickets
for meals are $8.00 per plate. We will start selling those
tickets next week at our meetings. The final date to
purchase tickets will be February 9th. We need you to get
photos of the scouts to Jacob Givens for the slideshows as soon as
possible. Please email your 10 best pictures of your scout taken
at scout activities since last years banquet to
"photos@etowah777.com." Thank you.

Let's Get Ready To Race!
Pinewood Derby season is in full swing! Each of our Cub Scouts
gets their cars for free so ask Mr. Dana if you don 't have
your car yet. Saturday, Jan. 14th is our annual derby
workshop. This is only if you want help building your car and is
not required. You can bring your car anytime from 9:00 to
1:00 and we'll do most of the hard work for you. Our
Pack race is February 41h. We will be awarding trophies for
speed AND DESIGN, so spend some extra time on
making that car look sharp! We also have an "Outlaw
Division." Any non-Cub Scout can purchase a car for $5 and
can enter to race their car for $5 the day of the race.
We also award trophies for speed and design in
this category so let's see what you've got parents! The
District Race is March 17th and all cars are encouraged to
enter and race for bragging rights for 777. (Cub Scouts
only, SORRY parents.) We host that event and we want all of our
Scouts to he there. (Racing that day is $7 per car.) The
Pack will provide a concession stand at both races as a fundraiser.

Summer Program 2012!!
2012 is the second year of Pack 777's themed sununer program.
Last year we searched for fossils, minerals and gold as we
traveled back in time to 777 B.C.! We will be announcing the
theme for this year at Blue and Gold but our calendar is already
set. We have activities planned in three states so get ready
because it is going to be GREAT!
